Family Pour Night
Posted by Amanda Altig on
Our 7 year old has been really into watching us do acrylic pouring. Tonight he asked if I would coach him through a pour— of course I’m thrilled that he wants to paint with us instead of zoning out on Minecraft, so I jumped on it!
We covered the table with plastic wrap and then I had him prep his canvas himself, pick out his colors, and mix all of the paint concoctions. He was able to follow directions and not jump ahead this time. He wanted to do a flip-cup pour, so he poured all of his paints together into one cup and then flipped the cup quickly onto his canvas.
The results were amazing! I usually don’t do flip cups because I want to be in more control— but after his paint was on the canvas he took a straw and blew cool designs into the paint!
He said he wanted to create a galaxy and I think he nailed it! ❤️
